Cognitive Testing and Rehabilitation helps those impacted by any kind of acquired brain injury.
The neuropsychologist will first conduct cognitive testing to analyze your brain’s current strengths and weaknesses (e.g. tests for attention, memory, language, speed, planning etc.).
Based on this analysis, an individualized cognitive training plan and practical tips to help improve your performance will be offered.
Need for Cognitive testing and Rehabilitation
For people with brain injury and their families, cognitive problems can be barriers to returning to everyday life function.
Just like movement and speech are important to help us with everyday activities, similarly cognitive functions like attention, memory, planning, decision making are important to complete routine activities such as banking, shopping, driving, managing medicines and household as well as socializing.
Any kind of acquired brain dysfunction (e.g. stroke, epilepsy, dementia, head injury, Parkinson’s disease, psychiatric conditions like schizophrenia, depression etc.) can disrupt these abilities, in turn making the person more dependent on family.
In some cases, return to school or work performance may also be affected due to these deficits.
